reset firefox default URL search to google

i was bugged by annoying
search.conduit.com after installing the Live India Toolbar , don't ever install it , it leaves a lot of bugs / spywares in ur system , even after uninstalling.

after removing it , when i typed anything in the address bar , instead of google it was looked in search.conduit.com and this was really shit , even i blocked the site using Block-Site add on it was there. then i fould something really interesting for first time users of configuration file ..of firefox

Type about:config in the address bar and hit enter :)

it asks you to keep the promise :) LOL . do keep that .
then search for

keyword.URL and right click on it and reset it :)

GEODE - let locate and locate

Mozilla Labs released a Firefox plug-in last Tuesday 7th oct called Geode
that lets Web sites figure out a person's approximate geographic location
and use it in online services--as long as you grant the software permission
to access the information.

Geode, a preview of technology to arrive in Firefox 3.1, taps into
technology called Loki from Skyhook that deduces a computer's location from
the signals of nearby wireless networks, according to a Mozilla Labs blog
post on Geode.

JRE plugin for firefox missing ?

if u are surfing on Firefox on a Linux box and there is JRE plugin missing even if JRE installed ,, u wll end up finding that online , but u wont get that .. :) , it will always remain as missing plugin .

all u need to do

>updatedb
>locate libjavaplugin_oji.so
after that make a link to that shared lib
>ln -s /usr/java/jdk1.7.0/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.12/plugins/

just refresh the window and u are done .. it's the time to disco :) i was using Fedora core 8 . u might have to look for libjavaplugin.so
